Presidential Priorities – One Day 2024

BGSU One Day, our annual day of giving, is defined by impact. Since its launch seven years ago, our alumni and supporters have raised millions of dollars on BGSU One Day to create opportunities for our current and future students and elevate the BG experience.

If you are able, I hope you will join us in supporting BGSU One Day. It will be an all-out effort to engage with our supporters in all 50 states, as well as countries around the world. This year, we are highlighting four funds in support of BGSU students, faculty and staff.

Pay It Forward Scholars Fund

The Pay It Forward Scholars Fund supports undergraduate students whose financial need cannot be met by other sources and who have, unanticipated, significant life events that, may prevent them from completing their degree. The scholarship seeks to support recipients and foster an appreciation and of a responsibility to pay it forward.

Thompson Working Families Scholarship

The Thompson Working Families Scholarship is a program that defines the future of philanthropy. It is a shared commitment between the student, alumni Bob and Ellen Thompson and the University to be accountable and achieve success. Your gift is matched dollar for dollar to expand scholarship support for Thompson scholars and provides life-changing opportunities for current and future BGSU students.

Student Emergency Fund

The Student Emergency Fund helps BGSU students who experience an accident, illness, financial hardship; or other emergency that may jeopardize their ability to continue their education. A gift to this fund helps students recover financially and demonstrates support from Falcons everywhere.

Falcon Marching Band Field Project

For 100 years, the BGSU Band – on the field and in the concert hall – has supported students, performed on and off campus, entertained audiences and established cherished traditions. An enhanced turf field and new teaching tower west of Perry Field House will provide a quality practice environment for the Falcon Marching Band and a venue for other BGSU activities.

Bridge to BG Gap Scholarship

The Bridge to BG Fund helps minimize financial obstacles in earning a BGSU degree for students most in need. This program enables BGSU to close the gap between financial aid and the cost of tuition, creating a path to graduation that may not have otherwise been possible.

As a public university for the public good, your support is incredibly important. Any gift, in any amount, makes a difference. As you consider giving back, we encourage you to select a fund that is meaningful to you. If you would like to make a gift to a fund not listed on the BGSU One Day website, you can do so here.

We are grateful for your support of our students and our University’s mission to create public good on BGSU One Day and always. Thank you!

Ay Ziggy Zoomba,
