College of Health and Human Services

Over the last three years, the College of Health and Human Services has grown nearly 30 percent in student enrollment, programs, and faculty/staff. The College has been responsive to regional and national workforce needs. It has established two new schools, Physical Therapy and Nursing, while bolstering growth in programs that enhance well-being and quality of life. As the college continues to grow, so does the need for private support.

Food Insecurity Support Fund

Since opening its doors in February 2022, the Falcon Food Pantry has been serving, about 200 BGSU students weekly. This follows a research study completed in 2020 that showed 42 percent of BGSU students experience food insecurity. More than a food pantry, this initiative provides nutrition education sessions, wrap-around referral support services, internship opportunities, oversight of the BGSU Community Garden and research/learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.

Public Health Program Fund

Gifts to this fund strengthen the college by providing support for programmatic needs not covered by state appropriations, guaranteeing that our students will receive an exemplary educational experience.

Criminal Justice Learning Community

As a nationally ranked program, the college’s criminal justice program prides itself on providing unique experiential learning for students, access to internships and professional development opportunities and more. This is all made possible through private support.

Nursing Scholarships Fund

The Nursing Scholarships will help alleviate a financial burden for nursing students in their junior and senior year who are unable to work while completing clinicals, preceptors and classes.

Speech and Hearing Clinic  Fund

The Speech and Hearing Clinic offers state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic speech, language, and hearing services. It is open to the public and serves all ages. The clinic provides an important community service and a training facility for master's and doctoral speech-language pathology students.

HHS Gap Scholarship

For most students, there is a gap between the total cost of attendance and the amounts provided by financial aid programs and parental support. From modest book scholarships to housing support to tuition reimbursement, gap scholarships help students reach graduation.
