Honors College

The Honors College challenges students to discover the best in themselves, from critical thinking and curiosity to innovation and comfort with ambiguity. Look over the funds we’ve hand-picked for you. We hope you’ll help us foster the ground-breaking research, arts and leadership that our students explore before they share their knowledge, experience and skills with their communities. Thank you for your commitment and support of high-achieving students at Bowling Green State University.

The Tom Klein Leadership Scholarship

The Tom Klein Leadership Scholarship was established by the University to honor Tom Klein and to create scholarships for University Honors students who have shown an outstanding commitment to their community, demonstrate financial need and who exemplify academic excellence. During his life, Dr. Klein dedicated himself to education and community service. He taught for 30 years at BGSU and impacted many lives on and off BGSU’s campus.

Your gift to this scholarship adds to the endowment and honors the legacy of Tom Klein.

M. Neil Browne Student Enrichment Fund

This fund provides resources to faculty members to provide experiential learning opportunities to BGSU Honors students (like attendance at theatre performances, support of invited speakers, etc.)

The Honors College hopes to raise $50,000 in the next five years. That would allow Honors to fund $5000 worth of projects annually.

 Devine Honors Fellows Scholarship

This is a new fund that provides full Honors Learning Community fee scholarships to all student volunteers providing leadership within the community. Fellows help staff plan and promote learning community events (like book discussions) and assist during fields trips.

If we can raise $25,000 over the next five years, all HLC Fellows will be supported.

Alumni Laureate Scholars Fund

The Alumni Laureate Scholarship currently covers the cost of any educational expenses up to the cost of full-time in-state undergraduate tuition, for eight uninterrupted fall and spring semesters.

The program allows students to take part in leadership workshops, community engagement activities, and meetings with university, community and alumni leaders and volunteers. The ALS program also includes cohort meetings and regular interaction with the Honors College staff and program advisor.
