GRIT programming is designed to promote qualities associated with determination. GRIT is “sticking with things over the very long time until you master them.” Over 500 students participated in this program last year, 96 percent of whom agreed that the program taught them how to be gritty.
Start the Conversation is a bystander intervention training designed to educate and empower the campus community to intervene and help those who are struggling with mental health concerns.
The Mental Health Awareness Campaign is a comprehensive strategy in on-going development to increase awareness of campus and community mental health resources, to promote mental health and to decrease stigma associated with seeking help. Money raised for this initiative will be used to fund elements of the campaign such as newspaper ads, print and electronic posters, building wraps, advertising at athletic events, student give-a-ways, social media campaign and more.
