The Fighting Falcon Squadron is a student-run, academic organization committed to promoting the understanding and advancement of aerospace power through community service, academic learning and leadership development. Our membership includes students who not only come from Bowling Green State University, but also those who wish to study aerospace power from our partner schools: University of Toledo, Ohio Northern University, Heidelberg University, Tiffin University and Findlay University.
The Fighting Falcon Squadron is seeking funds to help support grants, professional development opportunities, transportation costs to and from professional development, accommodations and supplies. Past examples include grants for students who have demonstrated leadership and excellence in academics, leadership development weekends with other universities from Michigan and Ohio and community service activities.
This year in particular, as part of a continuing effort to develop interest in flying and rated careers, as well as providing students with experiential learning opportunities, the Fighting Falcon Squadron is raising funds to provide grants to member students for use in pursuing certified flight hours and private pilot’s licenses.
The target goal of $4,500 will allow several members to engage in flight activities to broaden their horizons and expand their understanding of flying operations.
