Kick Off Freshmen Student Success

Provide New Students with Critical Tool for Success

College IS different: Students need to distinguish between studying and learning--that difference is key to long-term student success. In the book “Teach Yourself How to Learn: Strategies You Can Use to Ace Any Course at Any Level,” author Saundra McGuire provides students with the strategies to earn good grades, but more importantly, to enjoy a lifetime of deep, effective learning.

The College of Arts and Sciences will provide McGuire’s book to each of its approximately 1,000 first-year students. Each $10 gift donated during BGSU One Day will provide one student with this motivational and practical text for student success. Each $100 gift will help 10 students achieve at higher levels, in college and afterwards—this is a gift that matters.

Success!
