College of Health and Human Services

Over the last three years, the College of Health and Human Services has grown nearly 30 percent in student enrollment, programs, and faculty/staff. The College has been responsive to regional and national workforce needs by establishing two new schools, Physical Therapy and Nursing, while bolstering growth in programs that enhance well-being and quality of life. As the college continues to grow, so does the need for private support.

HHS Greatest Need

This fund supports the greatest needs of the College of Health and Human Services. From enhancing student learning, to recruitment, programming, research, professional development and more, every student and faculty member is impacted by this fund.

Criminal Justice Program

As a nationally ranked program, the college’s Criminal Justice Program prides itself on providing unique experiential learning for students, access to internships and professional development opportunities and more. This is all made possible through private support.

Falcon Food and Resource Community

Since opening its doors in February 2022, the Falcon Food Pantry has served 150 students a month, including more than 700 in November and 37 percent international students.  Gifts to this fund will support food security efforts for all BGSU students, faculty and staff on the Bowling Green and Huron campuses.

Physical Therapy Program

In Fall 2022, BGSU welcomed its inaugural Doctor of Physical Therapy cohort. With 105 students enrolled, the program positions BGSU to create public good by providing quality care for people across the lifespan. Gifts to this fund will provide professional development opportunities, experiential learning and more.

Speech and Hearing Clinic

The Speech and Hearing Clinic offers state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic speech, language, and hearing services, and is open to the public and serves all ages. The clinic provides an important community service as well as serving as a training facility for master's and doctoral-level speech-language pathologists.

Diversity Initiatives

Gifts to this fund will support student and staff activities related to the College’s diversity and inclusion activities. For one specific initiative, CHHS has partnered with Toledo Public Schools to offer exposure to medical and STEM career fields in a higher education setting. Private support provides transportation, materials, and camper scholarships.
