Mark S. Kelly Band Scholarship

2017 Falcon Marching Band Drum Majors at the Bands of America Exhibition Performance in Indianapolis, IN

Created and named in memory of Mark S. Kelly - the BGSU Director of Bands for nearly 28 years – the Mark S. Kelly Band Scholarship awards tuition support for an incoming music major who will participate in the University Bands program during his or her undergraduate career.

Mr. Mark Kelly, "The Chief", was a leading figure both regionally and nationally in the music education and band fields.  He was best known around the BGSU campus as Director of Bands (1966-1994) and the head of the Falcon Marching Band! Anyone who knew Mark know of his caring personality, high standards, and incredible passion for bands, music education, and BGSU musicians. His influence and legacy continue to live on through the lives and careers of the hundreds of students that he taught and mentored.

Your #BGSUOneDay contribution – big or small – will make huge difference to the students who receive this scholarship each year. Join us today, in honoring the legacy of The Chief we were saddened to lose earlier this school year.
