Military Student Services

Nontraditional and Military Student Services (NTMSS) provides students with access to a Veteran Student Center where veterans gather to study, relax between classes and support each other as they re-acclimate to civilian life and the pursuit of a college education. Donations provide coffee, bottled water, snacks and free printing.

Many of our military and Veterans students attend BGSU part-time in the summer. Support will pre-pay fees to allow part-time veterans to utilize the Student Recreation Center during summer sessions, which is critical in addressing stress issues. NTMSS maintains an emergency fund to assist our military students with unexpected financial challenges by providing emergency gas, food and phone cards.

Our Student Veterans of America organization utilizes fund support for registration and transportation expenses to regional and national conferences for professional development for our student leaders, as well as funding club activities, such as occasional Friday lunch in the center and finals week pizza.
