From the first-generation college student who wants to teach or lead a higher education team, to a sport management major preparing for that intimidating first professional interview, your generosity can help BGSU’s College of Education and Human Development students go far – in college now and in communities later.
Your investment supports vital opportunities for our students, from academic experiences to internships, practicums, and student teaching, providing them with the skills they need to become highly qualified professionals in their fields.
EDHD General Support
Gifts to the EDHD General Support Fund provide for the greatest needs of the College. From support for diversity and inclusion initiatives, to professional development opportunities and new programming, gifts to this fund allow flexibility for the College to be responsive to changing academic and support needs of our students.
Student Professional Development Fund
The Student Professional Development Fund aids students in the College of Education and Human Development who are completing an internship, student teaching, or other classroom-related experience off campus by providing them with a small gas card to help with what can be a significant expense. Students who commute at least 20 miles one way are eligible to receive a gas card.
Athletic Training
Gifts to this fund support students in the Sports Medicine Specialization sequence and the Master’s in Athletic Training program by offering new equipment, professional development, and hands-on learning experiences.
Developing Connections Conference/Career Day
The annual Developing Connections Conference and Career Day events allow human development and family studies students to gain real-life experience by interacting with agencies through poster presentations, on-site internship interviews and professional networking opportunities. Gifts to this fund will allow for expansion of these programs and prepare students for lifelong career growth and success.
Excellence in Leadership Studies & Development
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Leadership Studies program, gifts to this fund will help establish an Executive Leader-In-Residence program that allows students to directly interact with and learn from professionals currently serving in leadership roles. Coupled with a rigorous academic curriculum, this will ensure students leave fully prepared to become outstanding leaders who have the knowledge and ability to transform organizations and communities.
Mr. Agne’s Career Collection
Mr. Agne’s Career Collection offers a “free thrift shop” for all BGSU students to select professional attire for interviews and new careers. Fashion Merchandising and Product Development students use their skills in a real-world setting by staffing the shop, managing the inventory, and styling clients to help them achieve a polished, professional appearance. Support for this initiative helps increase outreach to students across campus, provide additional items for the collection and internship opportunities for students.
